Revealed: How Ruto Put a Break to Raila’s ‘Maandamano’ in a Single Phone Call

It has been revealed that Deputy President William Ruto reached out to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to end the “Maandamano” protest. These protests was organized by Raila’s ODM party to push for reforms in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in 2016.

Acccording to the nation, the phone call by Ruto to Raila helped end the protests, which had been going on for several days. During the phone call, Ruto urged Raila to call off the demonstrations, assuring him that they would work together to address the issues raised by ODM.

Raila then called off the protests and later held talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta, leading to the establishment of the Joint Committee on Electoral Reforms, which made recommendations for improving the electoral system in the country.

This move by Ruto to reach out to Raila and end the protests was seen as a rare display of political maturity and willingness to work together for the good of the country.
