On Saturday, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) carrying fourteen passengers crashed into a wall at Kisumu’s Maboleo interchange, resulting in all passengers being hospitalized with multiple injuries.
The preliminary police assessment attributed the accident to human error, indicating that the driver was speeding and failed to navigate a turn, causing the vehicle to hit the interchange wall, bounce back, hit a stationary vehicle, and ultimately roll over.
Thankfully, there were no fatalities, and the driver was admitted to the same hospital as the passengers.
In another incident, the death toll from a Migori accident involving a tipper truck has risen to ten, with three more survivors passing away in hospital.
Eyewitnesses reported that the driver lost control of the truck and collided with pedestrians and boda boda riders who were parked on the roadside. Six individuals died instantly, while another passed away upon arrival at the hospital. One witness even reported seeing two people being thrown into the river.
