According to recent reports, a powerful nation, Israel, has invited President-elect William Ruto to meet with him. According to Dennis Itumbi, Israel’s President Isaac Herzog first congratulated President-elect William Ruto on his victory in the recently concluded August 9 General Elections.
According to Itumbi, the Israeli President has also invited the President-elect to Jerusalem for an official state visit.
Itumbi goes on to say that the Israeli President noted that Ruto visited the country as Deputy President and that it would be wonderful to host him as Kenyan President.
This comes as the Azimio team, led by Raila Odinga, filed a petition at the Supreme Court today to challenge William Ruto’s election as President-elect.
The Azimio team has assembled a team of 30 lawyers to challenge Chebukati’s results at the Bomas of Kenya.
The Azimio team has maintained that the election results were invalid and did not reflect Kenyans’ will. According to the team, justice must be served in order for the country to enjoy a prosperous peace.
