The presidential provisional results are still being broadcast across Kenya, as Kenyans anxiously await the final results. According to the most recent update, which was completed at 1.05PM today, deputy president William Ruto is ahead with 1,812,704 votes, representing 49.90 percent of the votes cast and verified by the independent electoral and boundaries commission.
Hon Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of Azimio La Umoja, comes in second with 1,768,632 votes, or 48.69 percent of the votes counted and verified. Professor George Wajackoyah, the presidential candidate of the Roots Party, has 16,638 votes, representing 0.45 percent of the votes counted and verified. Hon David Mwaure, the presidential candidate of the Agano party, received 7,307 votes, or 0.20 percent of the vote.
Regardless, the independent electoral and boundary commission is still receiving results from across the country, which they will count and verify before declaring the winner of this election. During this campaign season, let us keep the peace among ourselves.
