Deputy President William Ruto will not be the next President of Kenya, according to Kisii senatorial candidate Omingo Magara.
Magara claims that Ruto is rapidly losing ground in Kenya to Azimio candidate Raila Odinga and will almost certainly lose to the former Prime Minister.
Raila, in his opinion, has turned the tables on Ruto in recent weeks, and has surpassed him as Kenya’s preferred next president.
Magara observes that, as things stand, the DP is a mere paper tiger, losing influence even in his own Rift Valley region.
“Looking at the numbers, it is clear that Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza team is losing ground. Ruto has been reduced to the size of a paper tiger from Mt Kenya to the Rift Valley to the Coast and Western regions “According to an article in The Star.
Surprisingly, this comes from a man who was once very close to the DP and even served as Treasurer of his UDA party for a short time.
Raila’s rising fortunes, he observes, are due to his agenda resonating with the people, which is not the case with Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza.
He also claims that, while Raila has surrounded himself with people who can deliver, Ruto’s allies can’t help him or his bid.
Magara cites ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula, both of whom he claims cannot deliver even half of the Luhya vote.
“I doubt Raila will receive less than 80% of the vote in the Western region. The Kenya Kwanza team has been misleading Kenyans by claiming that the region can deliver 70% of the region’s votes to Ruto “He contends.
