Deputy President William Ruto has finally put an end to the speculation about his running mate by announcing Hon Rigathi Gachagua, a member of the Mathira constituency in the National Assembly, as his running mate in the upcoming general elections.
Gachagua came out on top after extensive consultations with him, Prof Kithure Kindiki, Ndindi Nyoro, Anne Waiguru, and Justin Muturi, among others.
Raila Odinga’s camp has now spoken out in response to Ruto’s decision to name Gachagua as his running mate.
ODM director of communication Philip Etale made unprintable remarks that will not be published on this site, essentially implying that Rigathi and Ruto lack integrity.
Ledama Olekina, a Narok senator, suggested that Ruto made a mistake by not selecting a woman as his running mate, instead settling for Azimio.
Alinur Mohammed, a Kamkunji ODM politician, also criticized Ruto for selecting the Mathira MP, claiming he is unqualified.
