Laikipia County Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has been defeated in her bid to become the next Member of Parliament for Laikipia East via deputy president William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance movement Party.
Waruguru was hoping to get a UDA ticket, but it appears that her hopes have been dashed. The official results show that the incumbent MP, Amin Deddy, won the day after the nominations.
Waruguru, on the other hand, claims that the election was not as free and fair as Deputy President William Ruto had promised.

Her defeat comes just months after she switched back to the hustler nation movement from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party.
According to the People Daily, Waruguru stated that after consulting with her constituents, she would support DP William Ruto for the presidency.
