Herman Manyora, a political commentator, has stated that President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odinga, and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka should move quickly to prepare the country for the August elections.
Manyora believes that what happened on Saturday March 12 at Jacaranda Grounds, where Kalonzo declared his support for Raila’s candidacy, should be considered the Azimio Coalition’s foundation, owing to the large number of supporters who attended the meeting, as well as the diverse leadership that was also present.
In an interview with Look-Up TV, the University of Nairobi lecturer argued that at the moment, Kenyans believe Deputy President William Ruto is ahead of Raila, and thus the trio should ensure they have a structured campaign trail to help them consolidate their votes in Raila’s favor.
“If I were Raila and Uhuru, the first thing I would do is consolidate my gains and votes like today, so that it is clear that they are winning; after that, I would let them work on their narratives, so that everyone can see that you are the one headed to victory; otherwise, they will wish they had listened to me.”
