Kenya’s deputy president, William Ruto, handed in his nomination papers today at the famous Hustlers nation offices.
Ruto was accompanied by two other aspirants vying for the country’s top seat on a UDA ticket.
Following the presentation of his nomination papers, an interview was held to determine who was best suited for the job.
Later, the deputy president will visit Tharaka Nithi, just hours after his ODM rival Raila Odinga held a massive rally there.
Ruto and Raila are the two main contenders for the country’s top seat, with previous online polls showing deputy president William Ruto leading his close rival Raila Odinga by a wide margin.
A massive smackdown is expected on August 9th as the two battle it out.
Today, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, as well as other Azimio leaders, will crown him as the Azimio alliance’s flag bearer.
