Senator Ledama Olekina of Narok has raised concerns about the possibility of Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja being cheated out of the August General Elections.
Olekina stated on his official Twitter account that there is a known hacker in Kenya that they must keep a watch on to ensure their success in the upcoming elections.
Despite not naming the person, Olekina voiced concern that Itumbi, Deputy President William Ruto’s spin doctor and blogger, might breach the IEBC system and manipulate the results in favor of Ruto. Itumbi is well-known for his hacking abilities, having infiltrated ICC servers and exposed testimony against President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto prior to 2013, albeit he did not name the person.
This comes after the IEBC recently assuaged fears about foreign intervention in the conduct of the national elections in 2022.
The Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Wafula Chebukati, indicated that the electoral body is dedicated to holding free and fair elections.
He refuted charges of election meddling in the presidential and gubernatorial races.
