In November 2018, Mikidadi Mugo Abdalla, a truck driver based in Nakuru, was sent to transport goods from Nakuru to Nairobi and then to Kitengela town in Kajiado County. However, he never returned and his disappearance remains a mystery to this day, five years later. Despite efforts by his family and the police, no clues about his whereabouts have been found.
Abdalla had been contracted by a businessman named Isaac at Wakulima market in Nakuru to transport goods to and from Kitengela town. On the day he went missing, he had transported a client’s property to Kitengela and promised to enroll his sister’s son for madrasa classes upon his return. However, his phone went off and he was never heard from again.
Abdalla’s mother, Maimuna Mikidadi, filed a missing person’s report at Nakuru Central Police Station, but the case was later referred to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). DCI officers were assigned to the case and traveled to Kitengela with the businessman, but were unable to find any clues about Abdalla’s whereabouts.
According to Mikidadi, the businessman later distanced himself from Abdalla’s disappearance, claiming that he was not aware he had traveled to Kitengela and that one of his employees had given him the truck after complaining about being broke. However, Mikidadi remains hopeful that her son is still alive and has not given up hope of finding him.
