All Saints’ Cathedral Church in Nairobi is seeking to fill the position of Provost before the end of Reverend Canon Dr. Sammy Wainaina’s term. The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK)-owned ministry posted an announcement on local dailies and its website, inviting interested candidates to submit their applications by the 4th of next month.
As per the notice, the Provost will be responsible for leading the All Saints Cathedral Church and will report to Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit or the Diocesan Bishop Sammy Wainaina. The Provost will oversee the implementation of the vision, mission, strategic objectives, and operations of the Church while upholding the values of the ACK.
The position requires a Masters’s degree from an institution recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE), and any of the degrees must be in theology or divinity. The ideal candidate should have ten years of post-ordination experience, with at least five years in congregational leadership and managing a large Church. The applicants should also be born-again Christians and demonstrate a commitment to Jesus Christ and the word of God while appreciating the Anglican Church’s traditions and liturgy.
Reverend Dr Sammy Wainaina has held the position of ASC Provost since 2013, and his term comes to an end this year. The position has a five-year contract, which can be renewed once.
