Police have arrested the boyfriend of a woman whose body was discovered wrapped in a suitcase and abandoned outside a residential property in Kamakis, Ruiru, Kiambu County.
The suspect, who is 28 years old, led police to a shop where he bought the sack used to stuff the victim’s body before leaving it 500 meters from their residence.
The murder occurred on Monday, and the suspect is said to have stayed with the body in their home before taking it to the location where it was found.
The suspect told police that he and the victim worked at a hotel in Kamakis, with the victim being a cashier and he a chef. The couple had a domestic dispute, during which the suspect hit the victim on the head, killing her instantly.
The suspect also led police to a location in Mukuyu, Murang’a, where they found the victim’s mobile phone in the possession of his cousin.
The incident was discovered by locals who noticed the suitcase at the entrance of the residence. When the body was found on Tuesday afternoon, it was discovered to have been stuffed in a sack.
