Azimio’s Joho Plans to Reactivate Protests on the Coast to Push for Lower Cost of Living

Former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho emerged from his public hiatus, revealing that he had been dealing with health issues and assuring his unwavering support for the activities of the Azimio coalition.

As the ODM deputy party leader, Joho disclosed that he was recovering from surgery abroad and would soon join in the Coast protests to demand lower prices of basic goods.

Joho emphasized his commitment to Azimio and ODM leader Raila Odinga’s ideologies, expressing disappointment that leaders in the region are not participating in the protests.

Additionally, Joho stated that he had been pursuing his master’s degree abroad and would soon reclaim the Coast’s political position.

During his absence, the Kenya Kwanza party, led by President William Ruto, has been making inroads to win over ODM followers.

Nonetheless, ODM leaders, including governors Gideon Mung’aro, Abdulswamad Nassir, and Andrew Mwadime, have thrown their support behind the national government, promising to collaborate with Ruto.
