Parliamentary leaders from both camps have stated that President William Ruto and Azimio chief Raila Odinga will make the final decision on whether Eldas MP Adan Keynan and Pokot South counterpart David P’Kosing will be included in the bi-partisan dialogue team.
During their preliminary meeting to address underlying issues before the talks, National Assembly Majority and Minority leaders Kimani Ichung’wa and Opiyo Wandayi, as well as their Senate counterparts Aaron Cheruiyot and Steward Madzayo, disagreed on the duo’s membership.
Wandayi explained that they objected to Keynan’s membership because he is a member of Jubilee party, a constituent party of Azimio.
Meanwhile, their counterparts objected to P’Kosing’s inclusion because his party leader has entered into some arrangement with Kenya Kwanza.
The matter has been referred to the leadership of their respective coalitions for resolution.
The dialogue team co-chairs have been named as Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo and his Tharaka counterpart George Murugara, who have already started preliminary talks.
