Key US Officials Meet with Kenyan Police to Discuss Security Collaboration

On Tuesday, the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome met with a delegation from the United States Embassy to discuss security cooperation between the two countries.

Led by Nicolas Keefe, the Acting Regional Director in the Diplomatic Security High Threat Programs Directorate, the US team is responsible for security and law enforcement operations at the Department of State’s high-threat, high-risk overseas missions in Africa.

The meeting, held at NPS Headquarters in Nairobi, highlighted the good relations and partnership between the two countries in training police officers locally and in the US, as well as collaboration in providing security.

Also present were Director of Human Capital Development and Administration Rosemary Kuraru and Police Spokesperson Resila Onyango.

The US remains one of Kenya’s key partners on security matters in the African region.
