Deputy governors warned against backbiting their bosses by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urges deputy governors to avoid backbiting their bosses, warning that it could lead to chaos.

He shared that he previously cut off unnamed individuals who wanted to talk about his boss, President William Ruto.

Gachagua advised the deputy governors not to slander their bosses, even to their wives. He encouraged governors to give their deputies specific functions and work together, as exemplified by President Ruto who always supports him.

Speaking at the deputy governors’ forum in Mombasa, Gachagua said the deputies have a critical role in advising their governors and unifying the various arms of government in the counties, including the county assemblies.

He stressed that they must respect their bosses, consult with them, avoid backbiting or undermining them, and be willing to take the bullet for them.
