Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has accused Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi of tarnishing the county’s reputation by stating that it is one of the riskiest counties to invest in due to recent anti-government demonstrations.
Mudavadi, who has businesses and property in Kisumu, had claimed that the protests were negatively affecting investments.
Nyong’o responded by stating that he had not received any complaints from Mudavadi regarding the security of his investments in Kisumu, and accused him of spreading misinformation to further his political agenda.
Nyong’o held a meeting with the business community to assure them of the safety of their investments, and called on residents to participate in peaceful demonstrations.
Despite the protests having negative effects on the county, Kisumu has still managed to attract investments, including a recent MOU signed with a UK-based firm for investments in agricultural production.
