A businessman was shot dead in his home in Nairobi’s South C area by an unknown gunman who gained access to his bedroom, leaving investigators puzzled.
Imran Ismail Singh, a 41-year-old accountant at a Nairobi-based firm, was found dead in his bed by his family, who heard gunshots and rushed to the room to find him bleeding from the mouth and nose.
One bullet head and a spent cartridge were recovered from the room, and it is believed that one gunman was involved in the attack.
Detectives from the DCI are investigating the incident and are collecting crucial items to help with the probe, including CCTV footage and mobile phones belonging to those who were in the house at the time.
One theory being pursued by the investigators is a family feud over property that could have led to the elimination of Ismail. His body has been moved to Montezuma Monalisa mortuary in Nairobi for an autopsy examination.
