Kenya Airways cancels all flights to Khartoum amidst violent clashes between military and paramilitary forces

Kenya Airways cancels all flights to Khartoum amid violence and power struggle between military and paramilitary forces in Sudan.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) claimed control of the presidential palace, while the army claimed control of all airports. Military aircraft were seen in the skies and gunfire was heard in several parts of the city.

Three civilians were reported dead and several injured. Khartoum International Airport has been shut down with aircraft set ablaze. Kenya Airways suspended flights and advised passengers to monitor the unfolding situation.

Pilots flying to and from Europe and the Middle East were advised to seek alternative routes. The African Union called for an urgent ceasefire, while the US and UK urged the Sudanese leadership to find common ground and end the violence.
