First Lady Rachel Ruto endorses pastor Dorcas Rigathi’s boy child program to fight substance abuse in Kenya

During the 60th anniversary celebration of the First Born Christian Centre in Gachie, Kiambu County, the First Lady Rachel Ruto showed her support for the boy child program led by the Office of the Spouse of the Deputy President (OSDP).

Her endorsement was aimed at rescuing boys and men in Kenya from drug and substance abuse and other related vices.

The First Lady commended Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, who has been spearheading the initiative in various parts of the country and internationally, including presenting a paper on “male inclusion and engagement” at the United Nations in New York.

The program aims to rescue the boy child through rehabilitation, skilling, retooling, TVET on wheels, and connection to employment and entrepreneurship.

The Archbishop Gerry Kibarabara also expressed his support for the program and commended the efforts made to save the boy child.

Additionally, the eradication of illicit brew in the central region, including Nyeri, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Muranga, and Nyandarua Counties, which Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has convened a meeting to address, would greatly contribute to the success of the OSDP’s boy child program.
