EPRA Maintains Fuel Prices Unchanged for April despite Drop in Import Costs

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced that it would maintain the price of fuel unchanged in the country for the month of April despite a drop in import costs.

In a statement, EPRA Director General Daniel Kiptoo stated that the maximum retail prices of petroleum products would remain the same from 15th April 2023 to 14th May 2023.

The decision was made in accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022. The hold in prices means that a litre of petrol in Nairobi will be priced at Ksh.179.30, while diesel and kerosene will retail at a maximum of Ksh.162 and Ksh.145.94, respectively.

EPRA has also cross-subsidized the price of diesel with that of Super Petrol while maintaining a Ksh.17.12/litre subsidy for Kerosene.
