Education Cabinet Secretary Presents Details of 2022 KCSE Results Amidst Controversy

Yesterday, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released the finer details of the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results while defending his ministry against claims of massive cheating.

He insisted that the results were credible and that the candidates deserved the grades they received.

He made these remarks before the National Assembly Education and Research Committee, which is investigating the alleged cheating.

The committee has heard evidence from various stakeholders, and Machogu challenged the MPs to produce credible evidence of cheating.

He acknowledged some irregularities but maintained that they were not sufficient to warrant the cancellation of the results.

The probe was sparked by a national outcry following the release of the KCSE results, with Nyambaria High School topping the charts, and traditional top performers being floored.
