Why Two Mortuary Attendants in Kisii Have Been Sacked

Two mortuary attendants have been sacked by the Kisii County Government for allegedly sabotaging the delivery of services at the facility. The County Government revealed that the two were found guilty of insubordination and were involved in the delay of the release of bodies to their families.

The County Minister for Health, Dr. Sarah Omache, said that the attendants had been warned several times but did not heed to the advice to stop the unbecoming behavior.

“We have been receiving numerous complaints from the public over the delay of the release of bodies at the mortuary, and upon investigation, we found out that it was the work of the two attendants who were frustrating their colleagues,” Dr. Omache said.

She added that the County Government would not condone any form of sabotage by employees who were paid to serve the public. The minister further urged members of the public to report any cases of malpractice or unbecoming behavior by employees.

The sacked attendants were escorted from the mortuary by the police after being served with their termination letters.
