Ruto Explains After Being Accused of Launching Same Road Twice

Following criticism from Kenyans online for launching the same road twice, President William Ruto has provided an explanation.

During his visit to Nyandarua County on Thursday, he announced the tarmacking of the 55-Kilometre Captain-Ndemi/Wanjohi-Kwa Matu-Geta-Kahuruko-Ndunyu Njeru Road, which he had previously launched five years ago when he was the Deputy President.

However, according to a statement issued by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Friday, the funding for the road project was cut by the government after Ruto’s initial launch, which was done to frustrate his political ambitions following the ‘handshake’ between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga.

Mohamed explained that President Ruto is fulfilling his promise to complete all stalled projects, including roads, and is cleaning up the mess caused by the deliberate denial of funding for these projects during the previous administration.
