Raila Odinga’s lawyer, Philip Murgor, submitted preliminary findings to the Supreme Court on Thursday, following the apex court’s order for limited access to IEBC servers. He told the seven-judge panel that IEBC had denied them full access to all eight servers, as the court had ordered.
Murgor, on the other hand, stated that the commission granted them limited access to server number five. During that time, they noticed that there had been numerous deletions. He claimed that the commission was using delaying tactics by deleting evidence from the servers.
“I’m happy to report that nothing has changed as of this morning. The forensic image of all eight servers is still being withheld by IEBC. With the limited access granted to server number five yesterday, our team was able to observe a large number of deletions “Lawyer Murgor stated.
On Tuesday, the court ordered IEBC to allow Raila Odinga’s team to examine its systems by providing them with the necessary credentials and passwords. It also ordered that ballot boxes from 15 different polling places be brought to the court and counted.
Former Attorney General Prof. Githu Muigai, who is representing the IEBC in the Supreme Court, has defended the commission, pointing out that Raila’s team lacks tangible evidence to support their claims. He wants the Supreme Court to uphold William Ruto’s victory because Raila’s case is without merit.
