Malala speaks out as police continue to surround his Milimani home in Kakamega.

Former Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala, who is still being held in his Milimani residence within the Kakamega town precincts amid a multi-agency police operation to arrest him, has claimed that the operation is arbitrary and unwarranted.

Malala stated that over fifty police officers were deployed to carry out the illegal operation, which began around 1PM and was not supported by any arrest warrant or break in order.

The fiery politician, who recently lost the Kakamega gubernatorial election, has claimed that the operation is a complete violation of the law and his Kenyan rights.

“Over 50 armed police officers attempted to break into and arrest me at my Milimani residence. There was no arrest warrant, no violation of the law, just a complete violation of the law and my rights.” Malala stated.

According to reports, Malala is being pursued for his alleged involvement in violent incidents during the August 29th Kakamega gubernatorial mini-elections.

According to police sources, the former senator was wanted for allegedly assaulting politician Joseph Oyolo during the Kakamega governor election.

Six officers arrived in six different vehicles.

They discovered the gate was locked and gained access by breaking the padlocks.
