Gachagua makes a list of what they will need for their inauguration ceremony.

The IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati, declared William Samoei Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua as the president and deputy president elect on August 15, 2022.

Following Chebukati’s announcement of the results, the next step was to prepare for the swearing-in ceremony, which was scheduled for Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 if no petition was filed with the Supreme Court.

However, Azimio’s move to court to nullify the presidential elections on August 9, 2022, may cause things to change as we await court rulings.

While speaking to Kass Tv, a local television station in Kenya, yesterday, Gachagua went on to list the items they will need for their swearing-in ceremony as well as those they will not need.

Gachagua stated that the Chief Justice is one of the key people in their swearing in ceremony and that the sword is not required to be present.

“What is only required during the swearing-in ceremony is the presence of the Chief Justice; the sword is only ceremonial,” Gachagua explained.
