Only two days after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati declared Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua as the president and deputy president elect, respectively, the duo is set to meet the leaders elected on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
The meeting will be held at the home of Karen, the Deputy President. The newly elected leaders are expected to meet with the United Democratic Alliance’s Governors, Senators, Women Representatives, and National Assembly Members (UDA).
The two also agreed that they would hold caucus regional meetings for County Assembly elected members who were unable to attend today’s meeting.
This comes after the IEBC declared Dr. William Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua as the president elect and deputy president elect, respectively, even as Raila Odinga of the Azimio la umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition rejected the results and threatened to go to the Supreme Court.
