These are encouraging developments for Mwangi Kiunjuri supporters across the country. The winner of the Laikipia East parliamentary seat has been declared by the leader of the Service Party.
Mr. Bernard Makau, the Gwanjoku Primary School’s Returning Officer. He announced Ephantus Mwangi Kiunjuri as the new elected Member of Parliament for Laikipia East, with 28,276 votes to UDA’s 21,144 votes.
Mwangi Kiunjuri split with UDA Presidential Candidate Hon William Samoei Ruto after realizing that things were not going well for him.
Kiunjuri sentiment, as expressed to TV47 on July 22nd, this year. The former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary admitted that William Ruto did not take him into account in most of his political rallies.
Kiunjuri stated that William Samoei Ruto’s political allies were not forthcoming. And this discouraged him from supporting William Ruto.
He even reduced his pressure to campaign for Ruto’s presidential bid, particularly in the larger Mount Kenya Region.
