Moses Kuria, the Chama Cha Kazi candidate for governor of Kiambu, has expressed regret for not joining William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.
Despite being a member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, Kuria is competing for the governorship of Kiambu against Kimani Wamatangi, the UDA candidate.
He told those who thought he would have won on a UDA ticket in Kiambu that he was willing to lose on a Chama Cha Kazi ticket.
“Many people have told me that if I had run on a UDA ticket, I would have undoubtedly been elected Governor of Kiambu. So be it if my pursuit of a Chama Cha Kazi ticket costs me the seat despite standing next to William Ruto at great personal risk “Kuria stated.
According to the outspoken legislator, he is willing to go to any length to ensure that the Mount Kenya community is included in Ruto’s government.
“When it comes to the future of my community, everything else is secondary,” Kuria said.
Kuria has slammed a group of UDA party members, accusing them of blackmailing him.
