Just days after Tanzanian singer Faustina Charles Mfinanga alias Nandy married singer Bill Nass in a lavish ceremony that brought Dar es Salaam to a halt, a man has emerged claiming to be the songbird’s biological father.
In an interview, a man who identified himself as Charles Godfrey Mfinanga stated that he divorced Nandy’s mother while she was pregnant. According to the man, 1992 was a difficult year for him, so he chose to divorce Nandy’s mother.
“Mimi naitwa Charles Godfrey Mfinanga, mama yake tulipotezana akiwa mjamzito. Nilikuwa mtu wa madini, sikuweza kumtafuta na wakati huo mwaka 1992 hakukuwa na simu kwa ajili ya mawasiliano,” he narrated.
He stated that he had a good relationship with Nandy’s mother and that Nandy’s aunt interfered with his relationship with her mother.

He says he’s coming out now so Nandy can recognize and trace her ancestors. Despite the fact that he had never met her before, the man went on to say that whether Nandy accepts him as his father or not, he holds no grudge or hard feelings towards her.
“Nachotamani kumwambia Nandy ni kitu kimoja, mimi sijawahi kumuona, kama ametambua kuna Charles Mfinanga zaidi ya mimi awe huru nampa baraka zote lakini ajue ni damu yangu. Najulikana Arusha nzima, nikakutana na huyu mwanamke ambaye hata sasa hivi nikimuona amezeeka sijui ana hali gani kama akinitambua anitambue au akinikataa anikatae ila aelewe Nandy ni mtoto wangu kwa sababu aliondoka na ujauzito,” he added.
This comes just a few days after Nandy’s extravagant wedding. According to reports, Nandy and her husband Bill Nass received substantial gifts, including money and expensive items.
Nandy announced just days before her wedding that she and Bill are expecting their first child. She did, however, state unequivocally that she will keep her child off social media.
“Hatakuwa kwenye social media, kuhusu swala la mtoto.” Nandy said, “Hakuna mtu atajua jina lake wala jinsia.”
