Raila praises Martha Karua for good show at the deputy presidential debate

The Azimio La Umoja presidential hopeful Raila Odinga has congratulated his running mate Martha Karua for a good show at the deputy presidential debate conducted at the Catholic University of East Africa on Tuesday.

Karua faced off with Rigathi Gachagua of Kenya Kwanza in a heated debate where a wide range of issues were discussed. Among them were integrity and fitness to hold public office.

Raila Odinga says his junior remained calm when provoked during the debate.

“Your poise, mastery of subject matters, and staying calm even when provoked were impressive. I congratulate my able deputy and team member  Martha Karua,” Raila said on Wednesday.

“The Azimio family stands proud of your performance during last night’s debate. Keep selling #VoteBlue #Inawezekana.” He added.

On their part, Jubilee which is a member party of over 26 political parties under the larger Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition has also praised Martha Karua for what it terms as a stellar performance.

“Well done Mama Martha Karua in a debate where the opponent’s agenda was to provoke you & attack individuals, you remained calm, composed and articulate,” the statement reads.

In most occasions, Rigathi Gachagua was seen launching an attackagainst President Uhuru Kenyatta for his predicaments and the problems facing the general public currently.

Jubilee hails the Azimio running mate for sticking to the plan and topics of discussion at the debate.

“The opponent made it clear that they only want power to settle scores against the President & to free up proceeds of corruption so that he can finish his mansion and host keshas.

“You, on the other hand, made it clear that the Azimio/OKA coalition is about social justice, social protection of the vulnerable, economic recovery & the well-being of Kenyans.

“On who holds the biggest grudges, he won hands down. On who cares about Kenyans, who has a grasp of issues affecting mwananchi, you won. You won Kenyans heart, you won, Mama Martha Karua,” Jubilee party wrote.

Next is the residential candidates debate slated for July 26th ahead of the August 9th general election.
