Gospel singer Alex Apoko, alias Ringtone, was overcome with emotion during a court hearing in which he accused blogger Alai of assaulting him.

The musician told Kibera’s Senior Principal Magistrate Monicah Maroro about the blogger’s assault. Ringtone sobbed as he described how the road scuffle occurred, tears streaming down his cheeks. Ringtone claimed the aspiring politician hit his car three times with his club with the intent of injuring or killing him.

The first hit, according to the musician, broke his windscreen, but the club did not penetrate the car. The club penetrated his car on the second attempt, and the third hit landed on his right cheek.

“He hit my windscreen with his rungu (club), but it broke in pieces. The first time, the club broke the glasses but never made it into the car; the second time, the club made it into the car, and the third time, he hit my cheek “Ringtone stated, pointing to his right cheek.
