The Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto has promised to deal with the youth unemployment crisis should he be elected Kenya’s president in the August polls.
The United Democratic Alliance party leader has admitted that many young people are wasting away despite having different types of skills that have remained untapped for their benefit and the country at large.
Ruto was on Thursday speaking in a series of political rallies in the vast Nyanza region where he has been selling the Kenya Kwanza agenda with the August 9 general election in sight.
“It is a national crisis that millions of our skilled youth are jobless, and languishing in poverty. This cannot be business as usual. It must stop. That is why Kenya Kwanza has deliberately initiated a Marshall plan that will fix this nation,” he said.
He also added that millions of Kenyans are struggling to earn a living in this difficult economic times, further promising to provide a long lasting solution to the current predicaments facing the nation.
“Kenyans are not happy because their country is on the wrong path. We are angry and hungry because of the high cost of living and soaring fuel prices. This is the anger that will drive Kenyans to vote for fresh, visionary and responsible government on August 9: Kenya Kwanza.” He added.
Ruto was speaking in Nyamira Town, Nyamira County. He also addressed the crowd in Marani, in Kitutu Chache North, Kissi County.
Among the leaders present were; Moses Wetangula, Amason Kingi, Walter Nyambati, Ezekiel Machogu, Sylvanus Osoro, Joash Maangi, Mathias Robi, Marwa Kitayama, Shadrack Mose, Vincent Kimose, Charles Njagua, Cate Waruguru among others.
