Section of Nairobi to experience water shortage

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has listed areas in Nairobi that will experience water shortage starting Thursday 6:am.

In a statement, Managing Director Nahason Muguna said that the occurrence is due to a partial shutdown of the Ngethu Water Treatment Plant.

The particular interruption of water supply in the affected parts of the city will also see the scheduled maintenance at Ngethu Water Treatment Plant  and the Ngethu Gigiri transmission mains.

As a result, the whole of City Centre, areas along Mombasa Road, University of Nairobi main campus, Coca Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, EPZ-Athi River and the whole of Industrial Area will be affected.

Those living along Juja road, Outer-ring road, Kangundo road, Thika road, Limuru road, Naivasha road and Kikuyu road will also be affected.

Other areas that will experience dry taps are those along James Gichuru, Langata road, Waiyaki Way, Riverside, Westlands, Lavington, Kileleshwa and Kilimani.

“We urge those in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the period of interruption,” Muguna said.
