Raila Odinga, the Azimio Coalition’s flag bearer, stormed the Rift Valley region yesterday, which is perceived to be Dp Ruto’s stronghold. Unlike in other regions where he frequently attacks his competitor, he was forced to eat his own words by admitting that Ruto is the region’s kingpin.
Raila explained to residents at his rally how he worked with Ruto in recent days and how he appointed a number of leaders into various ministries while in government, including Sally Kosgei, Henry Kosgei, and Laboso, among others.
He distanced himself from disparaging Dp Ruto, as he is accustomed to doing at various political rallies, and insisted that despite political differences, he does not hate Dp Ruto, explaining that they were only engaging in healthy political competition devoid of hatred.
This is thought to have caused the residents to remain calm at the rally while eagerly listening to his manifestos without leaving until he finished his campaign rally.
