As the country approaches the end of the election campaign, many leaders are attempting to cover more ground and popularize their ambitions among Kenyans.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has been under attack in recent days by Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, which has been pressuring Wafula Chebukati to use the manual voter registration system.
He had threatened that if the commission did not honor his request, he and his supporters would boycott the upcoming general election, but Chebukati dismissed him, saying that they would not bow to political pressure.
According to Dennis Itumbi, Raila Odinga has changed his mind and will no longer boycott the elections.
Chebukati insisted that the names could not be missing in the electronic system, which they use to print the manual register.
