Controversial Due to the hostile environment, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria claims that even key Azimio figures in the Mount Kenya region, such as David Murathe, lack the courage to campaign openly and tenaciously for him.
According to Kuria, Murathe’s recent media appearance on Inooro TV should make Raila reconsider his relationship with Murathe.
Kuria claims that Murathe was preoccupied with Ruto’s identity as opposed to their Azimio la Umoja candidate throughout the interview, indicating that he is not interested in openly selling Raila’s candidacy but only wants to pass his agenda through the edges.
Going forward, Kuria urged Raila to lower his expectations of leaders of Murathe’s caliber, claiming that they are only deceitful and unwilling to take risks and hit the ground running ahead of the August general elections.
“I just finished listening to David Murathe on Inooro. During the one-hour interview, he mentioned “Our Candidate” 13 times. He was never addressed by name. Raila Odinga, my friend, hawa watu wanakuuza kama bangi bana. Chunga hii mzee mikora. Mimi nawajua, I know you like the back of my hand.” Kuria stated.
