“Nitachukua Apology Kwa Diana,” writes Edwin Sifuna in response to Bahati.

Kevin Bahati slammed Edwin Sifuna for implying that he had withdrawn from the Mathare parliamentary race. Despite the coalition’s decision, Bahati insisted he was still in the race, urging Sifuna to focus on his senatorial bid. Bahati’s claims that Sifuna had been paid and might lose again in his Nairobi senatorial bid appeared to irritate him.

The ODM secretary-general, Edwin Sifuna, and singer Kelvin Bahati had a Twitter feud over the latter’s candidacy for the Mathare parliamentary seat.

Sifuna had earlier announced on Monday, June 27, that the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition had chosen ODM’s Anthony Oluoch as its preferred candidate, effectively removing Bahati from the race. However, in a retort on his social media pages, the singer, who was set to compete for a Jubilee ticket, slammed Sifuna, claiming that he had been paid off by Oluoch to sabotage his bid.

Despite the coalition’s decision, Bahati insisted he was still in the race, urging Sifuna to focus on his senatorial bid. “My losing opponent has already given you three million dollars to lie about my resignation and offer me a job in the Azimio government. You want to hire me as who? Stay away from Mathare politics and concentrate on your bid, or you will lose again, as you did in 2017 “Bahati stated.

Bahati’s claims that Sifuna had been paid and might lose his Nairobi senatorial bid again seemed to irritate him. On Twitter, the lawyer stated that he will personally accept an apology from Bahati’s wife Diana. “Thank you, Jubilee Party, for resolving the Mathare issue for us. We have a candidate now. Hello, kijana ya kulia lia nitachukua yake kwa Diana personally, “Sifuna stated.

In his response, the Mama hitmaker chastised Sifuna for involving his wife in their political disagreements, urging him to respect women.

Bahati, who was chosen by the Jubilee Party to run for the seat, appears to be abandoning his parliamentary ambition in favor of Oluoch, who was chosen during a joint meeting of ODM and Jubilee delegates. On Monday, June 27, ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna stated that Bahati will not leave the Mathare race empty-handed because he will get a lucrative job if Azimio wins the August 9 elections.

He stated that Mathare was designated as an ODM zone as part of the agreement reached at the delegate’s meeting earlier today. “In Mathare, we only have one candidate, Anthony Oluoch; this young man named Bahati is my younger brother, and we will talk. I’ll make certain that we find him another job within the Azimio government “he said.
