Moses Kuria is well-known not only for his legislative position, but also for his constant speaking out and, on most occasions, extreme controversies. Kuria and William Kabogo recently joined forces to oppose the Kenya Kwanza alliance, which is led by Deputy President William Ruto. They complained about various injustices within the alliance, particularly from Rigathi Gachagua, the presidential running mate, but Kuria changed his mind and rejoined the coalition after Kabogo left.
It sparked many reactions across the country, with Abduba Dida being the most recent to respond. Kuria was informed via his official Twitter account that he allegedly destroyed his own chances of becoming Kiambu county governor by betraying Kabogo.
“Why Didn’t I Join Azimio?” Kuria Unveils
In an interview with the Sunday Standard, Moses Kuria said he had seen improvements after being asked if the Kenya Kwanza principals had addressed his concerns. He revealed that candidates for his Chama Cha Kazi party are now given the opportunity to speak at political rallies.
Moses Kuria elaborated on his presidential candidacy and campaign organization.
“I don’t have two candidates,” he asserted, “my candidate is William Ruto, my team is Kenya Kwanza, and my deputy president is Rigathi Gachagua.”
The Gatundu South MP also claimed that Raila Odinga’s running mate, Martha Karua, did not own stock in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya alliance.
He continued, “Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga own the entire coalition. Uhuru will have complete control of the Mt Kenya region, leaving no room for me. That is why I am unable to join Karua in Azimio.”
