Deputy President William Ruto is currently in Kilifi attending a church service with some of his closest allies. The engagement today comes as his tour of coastal towns continues to gain traction as he consolidates his base ahead of the August primaries.
As expected, a large delegation of leaders is currently accompanying him to the church service. There are four governors among them, two of whom have left the Azimio team, which they claim had a hidden agenda when it came to the postponement of the document that was binding them together.
The two governors, Kingi and Mutua, are members of the delegation of Governors Mvurya and Mrutu, who are also seeking to reclaim the seat he lost in 2017. The team is also expected to hold another Mega rally in Kilifi today to rally support from the region.
