As Kinoru Stadium fills to capacity, Raila Odinga and his Azimio team demonstrate pure Meru love.

Raila Odinga and Martha Karua were given a hero’s welcome by thousands of people at Kinoru stadium in Meru county on Saturday as they took their presidential campaigns to the heart of Mt Kenya East.

Raila was joined at Kinoru Stadium by his running mate Martha Karua, Chief Cabinet Secretary nominee Kalonzo Musyoka, host governor Kiraitu Murungi, and CS Agriculture Peter Munya, Kitui governor Charity Ngilu, Babu Owino, Junet Mohammed, Peter Kenneth, Sabina Wanjiru Chege, and other top leaders in his presidential campaign team.

Raila, who is running for president of Kenya as part of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, and his Azimio team were showered with love by the residence, who packed the stadium to capacity. They came out in large numbers to hear what Raila had to say about his government.

His main agenda item was agriculture. Meru county is well known for its agricultural output, particularly “miraa farming.” Raila numbers in the Mount Kenya region continue to rise, as evidenced by the high turnout in Meru county. He will almost certainly receive more votes from the Mt. Kenya region than he has previously received.
