The general elections for this year are just around the corner, with only a few days left for the country to elect new leaders. People are expected to vote in peace and harmony, and to choose the leaders of their choice without a fight.
Dr. Fred Matiangi, Secretary of the Interior, convened a security meeting of senior police and national government administration officers today.
On the sensitive subject of insecurity in the volatile counties of Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot in the Rift Valley, the CS assured that re-deployment will take place as soon as possible to ensure that peace is restored in the regions and citizens can live in harmony as they should.
The security meeting is one of many that will take place within and outside of Nairobi County as the country prepares for national elections.
