President Kenyatta Ignores DP Ruto While Honoring Dignitaries

President Uhuru Kenyatta made another blunder that surprised many Kenyans. Following the military display and general entertainment, President Kenyatta took over the proceedings to commemorate Kenya’s 59th year of self-rule.

This is yet another blunder made by President Uhuru Kenyatta today during the Madaraka Day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens.Ruto was supposed to address the nation before inviting his boss, President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, but President Uhuru decided to proceed and left DP Ruto sitting.

Following the entertainment, President Kenyatta presided over a formal investiture in which a select group of Kenyans received several State honors.

The political rivalry between Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta was on display once more at the Madaraka Day Celebration, which was held at Uhuru Gardens. When high-level guests are invited to speak, the Deputy President usually serves as the de facto Master of Ceremony, passing the baton to the President in the case of an invited head of state.
