Muslims all over Kenya call for recognition and respect

Thousands of Muslim faithful in Isiolo thronged various mosques and grounds for special prayers to mark Eid Ul Fitr, signifying the end of the holy month of Ramadhan.

At the Isiolo Islamic Institute, religious leaders and elders called for peaceful coexistence among all the communities living in the cosmopolitan County, especially as Kenyans approach the August 9th general elections.

They also appealed to Muslim faithful across the country to extend a helping hand to orphans and destitute families, so that they also break their fast and celebrate Eid Ul Fitr in a special way.

Kirinyaga and Baringo Muslims have said they are being frustrated while seeking National Identity cards at the registrar of person’s offices in kerugoya.

Speaking after morning prayer as they celebrate Eid -ul-fitr at jamia mosque Kerugoya prison led my Imam Idd -Abdullah Amani appealed to the government to ensure there is fairness.

Idd said they are being denied identity cards making it hard for their children to join universities and those that have finished universities to get jobs.

The same sentiments were echoed in Eldoret and Mwingi. This year round The Muslims and the rest of Kenyans had enough time to mingle and celebrate with each other contrary to last year when there were Covid-19 restrictions.
