The general election in August is now less than 112 days away. A number of events are at stake in the political arena. These occasions include party primaries, the selection of running mates, the shifting of political allegiances, and the signing of coalition agreements. All political campaigns have been put on hold in order to work on the events before political heavyweights begin the final phase of their campaigns.
Chama Cha Mashinani is the political party led by Bomet County’s first governor, Isaac Ruto. The party is a member of the Kenya Kwanza Coalition, and on Tuesday, April 19th, the party held nominations in Bomet County.
The party has a strong base of support in Bomet. The Chepalungu Constituency Parliamentary race was the most hotly contested in the CCM primaries, with current Mp Gedion Kimutai Koske attempting to defend his seat through the party. He is up against two other opponents: Victor Koech, also known as Mandazi, and Dr. Ann Koske.
