Jasper Muthomi alias Mc Jessy, a celebrated comedian and politician, has broken his silence after endorsing Mwiti Kaathaara for the South Imenti seat, which he had been eyeing. Six days later, the politician announced his intention to run for the seat as an independent candidate.
Mc jessy went on to say that he was forced to put his ambitions aside and support another candidate because he was short changed. Jessy stated that he will now support Ruto’s presidency and urged the people of south Imenti to vote for him.
Jessy will be up against four other candidates: Mwiti kathaara UDA, Dr. Shadrack Mwiti Jubilee, Gedion Kimathi Mbus party, and Muthuri Mwega, an independent. The comedian appealed to the people of South Imenti to vote for him, claiming that his quest for there matters had led to his decision.
Jessy joins a long list of politicians who have broken away from the UDA party, with many analysts arguing that politicians should not rely on parties to win elections.
