As Nominations Approach, Jubilee MP Shares a Text From Waititu

As the August election approaches, political tensions continue to rise. Leaders are forming coalitions to ensure their place in the next government. The presidential seat has remained the center of attention.

Political parties are expected to hold primaries this week to determine who will run in the general election in August.

The nominations will be held on Thursday, April 14th, by Ruto’s UDA party. The exercise will take place across the country, with the exception of Nandi County, where it will take place next week, on April 19th.

Wanjiku Kibe, a Gatundu North member of parliament, has revealed that she received a text message from former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Wanjiku Kibe is the Member of Parliament for Gatundu North.

The lawmaker has gone ahead and exposed the text, posting a screenshot on her social media accounts. The text asks the MP to turn out and vote for Waititu during the UDA nominations on Thursday.

“Jambo, Nakuomba kura yako tarehe 14 April, kuwa governor wa Kiambu, Tuendelee na kazi nzuri tulioanza, Greetings, Waititu Babayao “read the message.

Waititu’s request was turned down by the Gatundu North legislator. She has stated that she is a member of the Jubilee party and that only UDA members will be allowed to vote in the primaries.
