Angry UDA supporters from Budalangi have expressed their displeasure with the party’s leadership over the allocation of direct tickets to the aspirants. Supporters of one female candidate demonstrate on the road with banners, shouting and demanding that nominations be held instead of the polls that are currently being used to select the most popular candidates.
One supporter can be seen repainting the UDA logo on one of the offices in Budalangi.
He covers the yellow and green UDA logo in white paint.
Surprisingly, people in the background can be heard saying that some rich people, “mabwanyenye,” should not sit down and decide who should be their leader for them.
The seat of Budalangi is currently held by an ODM candidate. This is the seat they’ve always had. Ababu Namwamba, the long-serving secretary general of the ODM, attempted to join another party, but it did not go well. William Ruto has been working on consensus, and we’re waiting to see if he’ll be able to solve this one as well.
